92 Points James Suckling
“Very composed, silky and elegant. Focused aromas and flavors. Notes of red cherries, toasty oak spice, chocolate and wild herbs, as well as some plum cake. Beautifully fleshy palate with a supple, bright red-cherry and blood-orange core. Silky, long and fine. Drink or hold.”
The pursuit of Pinot perfection took us far from our California home base to the remote reaches of the South Pacific and the stunningly beautiful nation of New Zealand. We discovered a small and exceptional property along Te Muna Road, an especially remarkable terrace in the celebrated Pinot Noir village of Martinborough. Te Muna is Maori for ‘special’ or ‘secret place,’ and this Pinot Noir is the proudly bottled culmination of our lofty endeavor.
This 2014 vintage strikes the perfect balance between New World fruit and Burgundian character, delivering outstanding elegance, balance and complexity.
