T-Oinos has rapidly risen as one of Greece's best wineries. Based on the island of Tinos, just a short ferry ride from the luxury island of Mykanos, the vines sit on a hill of granitic soils some 400 meters above the sea. The winemaker behind the amazing strides at this estate is Stephane Derenoncourt, known for his work at such great properties as Domaine de Chevalier, Pavie Macquin and la Mondotte. All vinification uses organic practices and native yeasts. The Mavrotragano from the magnificent Clos Stegasta vineyard, fermented with whole bunches in big oak casks with indigenous yeasts isolated from the vineyards. It matures in 500L oak barrels about 20% new. Deep with rich savory fruit tones, this has remakable polish and silky tannins. A beautiful introduction to this emerging grape variety.
