Sangiovese

Sangiovese is a dry, medium-bodied red wine with high acidity and medium to high tannins. It's often blended with other red grapes, such as Canaiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, to balance the acidity and tannin.  Sangiovese is primarily found in Italy, where it's the most widely planted variety.  Sangiovese is best known for its role in the Italian wines Chianti and Brunello.
