2020 Mazzei Siepi

Decanter & Suckling: 98 Points

Dried herbs and sweet spices on the nose, forest notes with bramble fruits, concentrated and expressive. Such a smooth delivery on the palate, tannins glide across the tongue giving the sweet strawberry, raspberry and plum fruit time to expand in the mouth as the acidity gives a mouthwatering aspect. This is very much on the lively and vibrant fruit - shouting loudly about its energy. Feels extremely well made, clear definition, finesse and balance. Such a gorgeous fruit profile, the high-toned strawberry and cherry, bright and piercing, yet also round and generous with tobacco and wood nuances. Ample tannins are fine but present, giving support. All round an exceptionally beautiful wine. I love this. Giving such immediate and youthful enjoyment but this will continue to age well.

2019 Nada Barbaresco Casot

Wine Enthusiast: 92 Points

Aromas reminiscent of chamomile, hay and minestrone soup carry over to the palate along with raspberry jam, crushed mint, licorice and a candied note. Smooth tannins provide support.

Barbaresco Casot is the wine that has always represented Nada Giuseppe in substance and style. Elegant tannins with dark red fruit and persistent finish. The fruit is always present, flanked by spices, flowers and balsamic notes.

2021 Thread Feathers Howell Mtn. Cabernet

Neil Koch is the driving force behind Thread Feathers.  He has agreements with high-end producers throughout California, Oregon and Washington. Exploiting these special contacts, he sources small lots of high-end wines and makes them available to select retailers at a reasonable price. We pass these savings onto our customers.  Typically, 100 to 500 cases are produce, so they don't last long.

On the nose black currant, cocoa, tobacco and herbs. Deep dark berry fruit, cocoa, sage, and bay leaf flavors completely saturate your palate. Characteristic Howell Mountain tannins – fine, firm, and nicely polished. Drink tonight with a nice piece of fatty meat or hold over the next decade or more.

2020 BV Rutherford Reserve Cabernet

Wine Enthusiast: 95 Points

Energizing tannins and vivid fruit acidity power the massive black fruits and intricate oak spices in this muscular but polished wine. Plump blackberries, baked blueberries, black currants and cedar all add to the compelling flavors. Built to improve and gain complexity with age, this wine should drink best from 2027–2037.

Mousse L'Esquisse Extra Brut

A grower since 1750, Champagne Moussé sits in the village of Cuisles, in a valley perpendicular to the Vallée de la Marne. This side valley has a unique soil in Champagne: a schist subsoil under clay. While Meunier often struggles to be taken seriously in Champagne, at Moussé, Meunier is celebrated. 80% of the vines planted are Meunier, with the balance planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
