White wine is characterized by a straw-yellow, yellow-green, or yellow-gold color. It is made from the non-coloured pulp of grapes. Interestingly, the skin may be of any color. The wide variety of white wines comes from the large number of varieties, methods of winemaking, and the amount of residual sugar. The primary grapes used to make white wine are Chardonnay, Sauvignon, and Riesling.
