92 Points - John Gilman:  The Lafon family’s 2023 Monthélie “les Duresses” has as lovely touch of red fruit to its personality this year. The bouquet is bright and complex, offering up scents of red plums, red and black cherries, pigeon, dark soil tones, woodsmoke, cedar and a lovely floral topnote. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and beautifully transparent down to its soils, with a fine core of fruit, lovely focus and balance and a long, soil-driven and complex finish of fine-grained tannins. A lovely bottle in the making.
